MCC Return for Two-Match Series
The Heat will be captained by Ruadhán Jones - Rodney Smythe/CricketEurope

After a fantastic season, the Munster Heat finish 2018 by hosting Marylebone Cricket Club in a three-game series this week at the Mardyke, on August 22nd & 24th.

There has been some titanic series between the MCC and the local lads over the last few years, with local players benefitting with a trip to the School of Cricket at Lords off the back of their performances.

There will again be plenty of youth amongst this side, who have already had some fantastic results this summer, including getting to the quarter-final of the premier T20 competition in Leinster, the Alan Murray Cup.

The Heat take on the MCC at the Mardyke once again, providing the weather can stay fair on the banks of the Lee, with a 50 over contest scheduled on Wednesday, as well as back-to-back T20 games on the Friday before the English club side return back to London.

The relationship between Munster Cricket and the MCC has flourished over the past few years, and another contest played in good sporting sprit can be expected again this week.

Ruadhán Jones captains the side for two of the three games, and will have plenty of his Cork Harlequins teammates around him, while Cormac Hassett, Jeremy Benton, and Diarmuid Carey will all be rearing to go after their All-Ireland T20 semi-final last weekend. Kerry's Awais Shaghir comes in for the T20 games, looking to show what he can do for Munster.
