Job: Administrative Assistant for Munster Cricket

Munster Cricket wish to appoint an Administrative Assistant to help it in running its adult and youth cricket activities for the 2016 cricket season and also to assist it in driving forward its ambitious plans for the development of cricket in Munster.

This is a temporary position for the 2016 season only. As Munster Cricket does not have an office location, the person appointed would be expected to work mainly from home, should be readily contactable by phone and email and have a computer with internet access.

The person appointed will have good administrative and interpersonal skills, good writing ability and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel; social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter; as well as being familiar with common Content Management Systems for website updates.. Experience of administration in a sporting context would be beneficial. 

The appointment will be for the period 9th May to 10th September 2016 and will require a commitment of 20 hours per week. Payment will be at the current minimum pay rate of €9.15 per hour, i.e. €183 for the 20 hour week. The person appointed will report to the chairperson of Munster Cricket but will also need to liaise closely with sub-committee chairpersons and other officers of the Union.

Administrative Assistant Duties

The duties of the person appointed will comprise the following:

  • Munster Cricket logoActing as team administration officer for the Munster Reds senior team which will play 5/6 fixtures in 2016 dealing with the organisation of the games, travel arrangements and acting as team secretary looking after player notification and related areas;
  • Assisting the cricket committee in relation to competition administration and the registration and grading of players;
  • Assisting the youth committee by taking charge of the administration of club youth competitions and assisting the chairperson of the youth committee with organisational matters related to Munster’s participation in the interprovincial competitions and other related matters as may arise;
  • Assisting the PRO in maximising the benefits of the new website in regard to the uploading of content and carrying out other promotional activity for cricket in the Munster region.
  • Assisting the development committee in preparing a sponsorship package for Munster Cricket and in undertaking market research and other activities aimed at developing sponsorship and other sources of revenue for Munster Cricket; and
  • Other duties as may be identified by the Munster Cricket executive board during the season.
