Club Accreditation
Join Us
Munster Cricket's first Club Accreditation Programme has been launched in conjunction with Cricket Ireland. The programme which was launched by David Griffin on behalf of Munster Cricket is designed to assist the drive to improve standards in all clubs and thus provide a better playing and organisational experience for existing and future club members. The improvement of club grounds and governance generally is a key objective of the Munster Cricket Strategic Plan.
The programme consists of three accreditation levels as follows:
It is hoped that all existing clubs will either achieve this on completion of the first review process in 2016 or will be able to agree a process to work to achieve this by the end of the current Strategic Plan in 2017. Any new club wishing to join the Union will need to satisfy a significant element of Level 1 before affiliation will be granted and will be required to agree a programme with Munster Cricket to reach Level 1 in an agreed timescale.
It is hoped that a number of clubs will be in a position to achieve Second Level Accreditation by 2017 or earlier.
It is likely that attainment of this level will be relevant to any club that aspires to host adult or youth representative cricket in future and who wish to be ranked in the top tier of clubs in the country.
Initial club inspections and assessments will take place during 2016. The review and inspection process will be organised in conjunction with Cricket Ireland and inspection teams will include members from outside Munster Cricket to ensure the inspection and review process is independent and impartial. Further information regarding this shall be made available in due course.
Completed templates and supporting documentation should be submitted to David Griffin in the first instance. He will meet with club officials/committees to discuss the details of the accreditation process and to agree specific timelines with individual clubs for completion of the necessary documentation and the review/inspection process.
